A Spider Among The Trees

While on a hike, my 10-year-old son commented about the many “huge, triangular spider webs” among the forest trees. Many of them were empty until my son pointed out the pictured web with its occupant. This web was located close to the path and was at eye level to my son. The actual size of this not-so-little arachnid was about three inches long, not including his legs. I don’t normally get freaked out by spiders, but this one was not the ordinary house spider. All it took was him to twitch his long skinny black leg and I was ready to high-tail it out of there – leaving furry creature to twitch in private…
